Chemin Leger
Good Evening
I'd always wanted to include the light source for a 'silouette' shot, in the shot. When I first attempted this shot, including the light itself just burned up that side of the frame, so I positioned a mirror and pointed my light at the mirror, which seemed to work a bit better.
Doing this shot gave me the excuse to use my fog machine for effect. I thought the shot was closer to what I wanted without using any type of soft focus.

That is a very compelling image Jonathan, technically very well handled but more so it appeals to me because of the simplicity and engagement I have as the viewer with the subject.

Thank you Steve
Good solution Jonathan.
I did it once using 2 pol filters. Actually, the one in front of the light source was a sheet! One in front of the light source, the other one on the lens. Turn the one on the lens till the other one looks completely black.
This way you can photograph with any light source showing in the image.
Even a projector from behind won't spoil your image :-)

Thanks for the info John
One of the headaches of doing this type of shot is flagging off the spill that ends up almost everywhere.
