Mystery Lens ii
white roses
Same lens as below. I'm having some fun with this one. It really has a nice softness. These were wet with the soaking that So. Cal. got on Wednesday before thanksgiving. I took this Thanksgiving day.

This was done today back home in Tonopah. Mystery Lens about f6. This is a complex image. I can't wait to hold a real print in my hands.

No clue. Guesses: Projection lens of some type. Has that petzval look. The way the halo makes things smear hints that one of the elements is in backwards, or is tilted somehow. Is the barrel dented?
Good portrait -- zooms into the face nicely. I like the flowers more than the building. The building is probably better in a larger print.
Cheers.
Congratulations Jim on remaining foremost a risktaker.
You are very productive Jim. I wonder how many no name lenses are overlooked and lurking within is a fine image maker?

Thanks all. George, this is a brass lens and I originally bought it for parts value of the #4 Studio Shutter. The lens is gigantic and quite heavy. It focused about 4 or 5 inches which was obviously wrong for the size. Layout was like a petzval. 2 cemented in front and 2 seperated by air at the back but nothing was right. It sat on the shelf gathering dust until the other day I took the air spaced set out of the back and put them in the cupboard, and I moved the cemented group to the back behind the aperture. It turned out to be this 13" f4 achromatic meniscus.
