Soft Experiment

I took a Verito backend and a Petzval backend and put thenm together and created a much different lens than the original. I am still learning the best methods for using a softie.

Maybe we could start a thread on soft experiences. :) Hint Jim !! Best lighting etc, etc!!

My Bad

I haven't checked in for a while and I see there are some lovely images to look at and read about.  WELL DONE!  It's nice to see Jonathan's idea beginning to take shape.

Here are some images done in a hotel room in Las Vegas with a little no-name petzval and 4X5 speed graphic.

I did these with efke 25 film hoping to get close to the feel of 8X10 tonality with a 4X5 capture.  Comments / questions always appreciated.

KwaZulu Dreams

KwaZulu is located in South Africa, the Zulu artisans there produce what's called an Isicholo hat, a ceremonial hat worn by Zulu women........it is pure geometrical form.   From a side profile, its conical form accentuates by flaring out from the head, and as seen from the front, the hat forms a disc which emphasizes and surrounds the face.
